Novel Scout makes sure you never miss a new book from your favourite authors.
It was born out a desire to make it easier to find new pre-orders in local bookshops. After spending a long time searching multiple sites when I found an interesting book announcement, I decided to put something together.
Right now Novel Scout aggregates pre-orders from a handful of Irish bookshops into one place and lets you subscribe to updates on authors new releases.

You can browse by author, search for specific books, or subscribe to updates for your favorite authors. When new books become available for pre-order for your subscribed authors, you'll be notified.
Novel Scout is updated roughly once a month with new pre-orders. A large section of this is manual work to verify information, so please forgive any delays in getting new information out.
Yes! Novel Scout is completely free to use. You can browse books, search for authors, and subscribe to email updates without any cost. If you do use Novel Scout as a service, please let your favourite bookshop know!
Novel Scout is a mostly solo project, and a lot of the information is gathered and verified manually. Unfortunately this means some information will be out of date or slightly wrong. There are a lot of categories I'd like to add, bokkshops I'd like to ater to and different ways to discover new authors, but right now the next step will be getting better data for the books making the site easier to update.
Visit the Authors page, use the search or scroll panel to find the authors you're interested in, and click the box beside their name. This will add the author subscription to the box at the top. Add your details, and when you've selected all the authors you want, click subscribe. You'll receive email notifications when new books from those authors become available for pre-order.
The author preview boxes don't currently work on mobile devices, so if you're unsure of a name, please use a computer to view them.
We send monthly emails with all the new releases from your subscribed authors, and maybe a few recommendations if you're interested. You won't be spammed, just a monthly update so you know what's coming.
Absolutely! Every email we send includes an easy unsubscribe link. You can also manage your subscriptions by visiting the authors page and updating your preferences.
Pre-orders let you purchase a book before its publication date, this means you'll get the book sent you immediately on release.
Not only does this mean you get the newest books first, it also helps to support authors. Publishers use pre-orders to get an idea of the interest in a book when deciding on print run numbers or marketing budgets. These also give booksellers more confidence to stock that book when it is released. Placing a pre-order means you get the book first, you never miss a book, and you support your favourite authors and bookshops.
Novel Scout doesn't handle orders directly. When you find a book you want to pre-order, click on it to view the details, then use the "Pre-order" links to go directly to the bookshop's website where you can complete your purchase. We aim to promote local bookshops not take their place.
Novel Scout focuses on upcoming releases and pre-orders. If a book has already been released or isn't available for pre-order from our supported bookshops, it won't appear in our listings. Try using our search function or check back later as new titles are added regularly.
We get our information directly from bookshop listings, but release dates can sometimes change due to publisher decisions. We update our database regularly to ensure the most accurate information possible.
Prices can vary between bookshops and change frequently, so we don't display them on Novel Scout. You'll see the current price when you click through to the bookshop's website.
