To celebrate Salmon Poetry’s 45 th year of poetry publishing, please join us for an afternoon of poetry from award-winning writers Phil Lynch, Nessa O’Mahony and Orla Martin. Expect a shoal of poems from Phil Lynch’s most recent collection Moving On , Nessa O’Mahony’s sixth collection Dodder Daughter , just out, and Orla Martin’s debut poetry collection Somewhat Vortex .
From its early groundbreaking titles, to its ongoing commitment to international dialogue and fresh perspectives, Salmon Poetry has continually expanded the boundaries of Irish writing and this reading will showcase the breadth of Salmon’s output.

ABOUT THE POETS
PHIL LYNCH’s poems have appeared in a range of literary journals and anthologies. His work has been featured on national and local radio poetry and arts shows and also on podcasts and CDs. He is a regular performer at poetry and spoken word events and festivals in Ireland and further afield. He is a coordinator of Words by the Sea, a monthly open mic event in Dun Laoghaire under the auspices of ArtNetdlr. His latest poetry collection, Moving On (Salmon Poetry), was published in April 2024. His previous collection In a Changing Light , also with Salmon Poetry, was published in 2016.
NESSA O’MAHONY was born in Dublin. She has published five books of poetry - Bar Talk , (1999), Trapping a Ghost (2005), In Sight of Home (2009), Her Father’s Daughter (2014) and The Hollow Woman on the Island (2019). A sixth collection, Dodder Daughter , was published in April 2026. She has edited journals and anthologies, including the Poetry Ireland Review Issue 138 tribute to Eavan Boland, and writes fiction and non-fiction. She is an associate lecturer with The Open University and has a PhD in Creative and Critical Writing from the University of Wales, Bangor.
ORLA MARTIN’s poems have been published in Washing Windows V , Washing Windows III and Washing Windows Too: Irish Women Write Poetry (Arlen House), Poetry Ireland Review , The Cúirt Journal , Crannóg Magazine and The Stony Thursday Book . Having read as part of Poetry Ireland Introduction Series, her poetry has been shortlisted for many awards including the Hanna Greally Literary Awards, Francis Ledwidge Poetry Award and the Gregory O’Donoghue International Poetry Competition. Somewhat Vortex , Orla’s debut poetry collection, was published by Salmon Poetry in 2023.
