“Baggotonia…place of myth and memory.” The Journal
At this free Noon Fix event, Martin takes an irreverent and quirky look at the writers of Dublin and their stomping grounds, especially the bohemian quarter of Baggotonia. Famous as a haunt for poets and writers such as Mary Lavin and Patrick Kavanagh, Baggotonia once described the area around Dublin’s Baggot Street and the Grand Canal.
Established near the homeplace of Brendan Behan, Croke Park has long been revered in song and story and is an iconic landmark. The GAA Museum pays tribute to the scribes of Dublin from the top of the stadium, yet at ILFD you can enjoy the glories of the tour from the comfort of your seat in Merrion Square, without having to climb a hundred steps to the roof!
