Both Chowra Makaremi and Sepideh Farsi bring a unique perspective and understanding to the issues. Chowra Makaremi’s research focuses on judicial and ordinary forms of state violence and the experiences of those that are affected by it, particularly those in exile, while Sepideh Farsi’s work is both deeply humane in its political engagement and unique in its modes of expression. Together, they ask: what can writers, filmmakers, and researchers abroad do to raise awareness of and support these uprisings?
