We are buzzing to welcome the multitalented Róisín Tapponi for a conversation on her debut novel, Scene City. Known for her pioneering work as a film programmer, Tapponi takes her experience of the art world into this infectious and irreverent novel which pursues hedonism and heritage alike. Joining her in conversation will be art writer and Programme Curator of Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, Michael Hill. All are welcome to attend.

ABOUT
RÓISÍN TAPPONI is a writer and film programmer. She is the Founder of Shasha Movies, a streaming platform for artist film and video from South-West Asia and North Africa (SWANA) She was awarded Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe for Entertainment in 2023. At 25, Tapponi graduated with a PhD in History of Art from University of St. Andrews, where she received a prestigious academic scholarship. Her art writing has been published most recently in books by Phaidon, Gagosian, and Sadie Coles HQ. Scene City is Tapponi’s debut novel. She is based in London.
MICHAEL HILL is Programme Curator at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, Dublin, Ireland, and one half of the curatorial team (with Clíodhna Shaffrey) that represented Ireland at the 59th Venice Biennale 2022, and Irish Tour 2023, with artist Niamh O’Malley. He has curated exhibitions at Interface, Inagh; Weatherproof, Chicago; The Model, Sligo; The Douglas Hyde Gallery, Dublin; Pallas Projects, Dublin; and he was an invited participant of the Curatorial Exchange at EXPO Chicago and Verein K Visiting Curators Vienna in 2025. His writing has been published in Winter Papers, OVER Journal and Visual Artist’s News Sheet.
