Join us for a culinary tour of the single woman’s kitchen through The Spinster Cookbook. A piercing exploration by Eli Davies, The Spinster Cookbook examines the kitchen as a complex space for women: a place of labour and gendered expectations, as well as a site of nourishment, care and company. Davies will be in conversation with Tara McEvoy on all things solo-meals, social norms, and self-expression. All are welcome to attend.

ABOUT
ELI DAVIES is a writer and researcher whose writing on culture, politics and literature has been published widely, including in the Guardian, Vittles, Tribune and the Tangerine. She also co-edited Under My Thumb: Songs that Hate Women and the Women Who Love them, an anthology of women’s music writing published in 2017. She lives in London.
TARA McEVOY is Communications Manager at the Irish Writers Centre and a Contributing Editor at the literary journal Tolka . She graduated from Queen’s University Belfast with a PhD in Irish poetry and has since held postdoctoral posts at several universities and worked for publishers including Pushkin Press and Faber & Faber. Her own writing has appeared in publications including the Times Literary Supplement , Dublin Review , London Magazine , Poetry London , and Winter Papers .
