Novel Scout is a passion project to bring together all the information about upcoming book releases and literary events in Ireland in one place.
After getting sick of trawling every Irish bookshop website looking to preorder a book and hoping they have it, I decided to see if I could put something together save me time and frustration. Which, of course, resulted in even more time and frustration going into making this website.
It currently only supports a handful of websites, and I'm hoping to grow it so you can find your favourite bookshops.
Novel Scout doesn't sell books, but helps you find an Irish shop that does. While this is aimed at Irish readers, lots of these shops ship internationally so make sure to check them out.
The crux of this project is a feature to let you follow your favourite authors and get updates when their new release is available for preorder, or if they'll be hosting an event in Ireland.
I can't count the number of times I've missed out of a book or event because I wasn't on the right social media platform at the right time, or I just didn't know where to look.
This is only half working at the moment, so sign up to get updates when it's ready. I'm torn on this being a newsletter or a site to itself, but we'll see how it goes.
Literary and book related events in Ireland are spread out across different venues, shops and websites. I decided if I'm going to make my own calendar of these, I might as well share it!
